Tamale Kit
Husks: Over one pound of large, full leaf corn husks (hojas), approx. 15 -18 dozen.
Very clean.
Flour: Maseca Corn Masa Mix.
Ingredients: specially ground & dehydrated whole kernel corn, lime (4.4lbs). No preservatives.

Chicken Tamales
6 cups MASECA flour mix (for tamales)
3 - 15oz cans chicken broth
1 cup corn oil
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 large rotisserie chicken (shredded)
12 oz Tejano Salsa Verde (view product)
25 -30 corn husks
Preparation:
Soak the corn husks in warm water until soft. Blend w/electric mixer the maseca, corn oil, salt, baking powder and chicken broth to obtain a consistent mixture. Marinate the shredded chicken in the salsa verde. Spread masa evenly over corn husks and top with a spoonful of marinated chicken. Fold the sides of the corn husk to the center over the masa so that they overlap to make a long "package". Then fold the empty part of the husk under so that it rests against the side of the tamale with a "seam". Place the tamales in a steamer and cook for 35-40 mts. Check every 20 mts. The tamale is cooked when it seperates easily from the husk. Yields 25+ tamales.
